Thoughts about my classes (Week 4 in webskill course)

As time goes by, I feel like developing with other English teachers in this course. Even, I am thinking about my classes  all day long. Since I am not a native speaker teacher, I need some devices to have my students listen to the native speaker's pronunciation and intonation. Therefore, I usually use some video clips from Youtube site and movies in my classes. They work for motivating students to focus on the classes. So, I sometimes spend many hours to search proper video clips for my classes. In Korea, most of students have smart phone. I sometimes plan my classes using phone. One day, I had students translate English textbook using QR code. Most of smart phone have this application , so I tried the activity using QR code. Students took a QR code like a camera, and then traslated the sentences that are presented in their phone. They were very interested in this activity. I think that this class was very useful in the end of the reading class.

The Third week with web skill course!

After reading a few articles about teaching and learning, I reflected my classes. It was a very important opportunity to me. I recalled the time when I tried to motivated my students to be more active. Above all, I am very amused at knowing useful sites for teaching. It's very hard for me to find out all of them for myself.

One of  tasks of this week is reading other teachers' final project papers and reflecting one of them. I read a paper written by an English teacher from Burkina Faso in Africa.  Reading his paper, I felt that he is doing his best as an English teacher. He motivated his students to write and speak English through e-mail even though some of them have never used computer before. Finally, he led them to write e-mail and students could enjoy writing English. Although I read only a paper, I felt that I was participated in his class. It was amazing!

The opportunity that I thought over my classes

This week I got two kinds of assignment that describe my students and offer objectives and that reflect about searching a few websites. Above all, I 've never heard about the ABCD objective. A is 'Audience' , B is 'Behavior', C is 'Condition' and D refers Degree of matery. I got to know this method. I 'll try to describe the objective in this way. 

In addition, I was surprised that there are many kinds of helpful websites that I 've never heard of. I was excited. For example,  I can find some famous people related to my classes easily through 'Who2' from now on. I feel like that I became very wealthy.

I got a great great experience with many teachers through web skill course!

I got a good chance to reflect my students and classes thtrough webskill course from Oregon Univ. I am really happy to communicate with so many passionate English teachers in the world. In fact, though I am really busy following the schedule of this course, I'll try to keep the pace with the schedule. I believe that I 'll be better teacher to my students.
